| The Cotton Candy Candidacy
Mickey Kaus first wrote about this impulse for a return to what some might consider a 9/10 world, something I believed the Democrats would try to do in this election cycle. In fact, Hillary Clinton rejected this theme and Obama embraced it. Look who is winning. There have been two great elections for change in my lifetime. In 1960, John Kennedy offered himself as the candidate best able to lead the country into a decade that most people saw as a pivotal period of confrontation with the Soviet Union. Kennedy made the case that his war experience best prepared him to lead the nation through the trials ahead in a radically changing world. He successfully sold himself as an agent of change despite the fact he was a creature of the Democrat Party establishment and a member of one of the richest families in the world.
Groundbreaking Apo E Gene Diet Linked to Alzheimer's Disease and Heart ...
TUCSON, Ariz., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- We all carry the Apo E gene. It plays a key role in the development of Alzheimer's Disease and heart disease, along with a host of chronic ailments. And it is greatly affected by diet. In her seminal book, The Apo E Gene Diet: A Breakthrough in Changing, Cholesterol, Weight, Heart and Alzheimer's Using the Body's Own Genes (Elite, Hardcover, $27.95, November 1, 2007), Pamela McDonald, RNFA, FNP, an integrative healthcare professional for 28 years, has developed specific diets that support an individual's Apo E genotype. The Apo E Gene Diet accomplishes what one-size-fits-all diets like Atkins and South Beach can never do: it prescribes the optimal combination of proteins, carbohydrates and fates for specific genotypes. The six Apo E genotypes -- Apo E 2/2, 2/3, 3/3, 4/2, 4/3, 4/4 -- responds differently to these big three macronutrients.
Hardware High-Def Sales Tip Towards Blu-ray Disc Following Warner ...
Of the top ten best-selling high-definition movies for the week, all were Blu-ray Disc. For the major new releases on each format, 3:10 To Yuma on Blu-ray Disc and The Kingdom on HD DVD, the former outsold the later by ten-fold. Although Warner will continue to release HD DVD product through May, the movie company has already put into action its separation plans. The Invasion (Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig) was originally slated for a January 29 release on both formats, but now the HD DVD version has been pushed back three weeks to February 19. The Blu-ray Disc version retains the original January 29 date. An even bigger delta will hit The Assassination of Jesse James (Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck), which will release on HD DVD on March 19, while the Blu-ray Disc will street on February 5.
