Pro-Choice’ Clergy Mark ‘Roe’ Anniversary By ‘Blessing ...

On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, what did this liberal news outlet choose to report on? Did they report on the large demonstrations and marches against abortion around the country? Did they report on the medical advances that have allowed pregnant women to see the entity they're contemplating on killing?

No. They reported on a media-attracting, staged event where some clergy "blessed" the local abortion clinic. Why would Planned Parenthood invite clergy? It's because Planned Parenthood wants to use the media to remove the moral stigma against abortion.

This is a case where the media's liberal bias induced them to be complicit with the pro-abortion agenda. Planned Parenthood wanted to use the media, and the media willingly obeyed. And why do we pay attention to it? Because the only way to rebut this media manipulation is to expose it.

NBA PRO-CON: The East has a better starting All-Star lineup

The Western Conference has more elite teams than the Eastern Conference, but the East has the better starting lineup for the All-Star game in New Orleans on Feb. 17.

Here's a position-by-position breakdown:

-Center. Dwight Howard, Orlando (East) vs. Yao Ming, Houston (West): Edge goes to Howard, who is better suited for an up-tempo game. All-Star games are up-tempo by definition. Also, get used to seeing Howard as the East's starting All-Star center for a long time to come.

-Power forward. Kevin Garnett, Boston (East) vs. Tim Duncan, San Antonio (West): They're even. Duncan's championship rings don't help here. Garnett's individual accomplishments match up very well against Duncan's.

-Small forward. LeBron James, Cleveland (East) vs. Carmelo Anthony, Denver (West): Edge goes to James.

Halle Berry Upsets Diabetics

Maybe it's the hormones from being pregnant, but Halle Berry has lost her mind.

The actress has been quoted saying that she was a Type 1 diabetic but now she has been able to ween herself off insulin to be a Type 2. SOMETHING THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

Pregnant HALLE BERRY is winning her battle with diabetes, thanks to a healthy diet and good living. The actress was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after she passed out while shooting a TV show called Living Dolls when she first arrived in Hollywood. But the disease has now dropped to Type 2 diabetes because Berry is no longer "insulin dependent". She says, "I've managed to ween myself off insulin, so now I like to put myself in the Type 2 category."

Such an assertion is outraging many diabetics.

Type 1 diabetes means your pancreas is dead.

Wild Card/Vacation Day 11 of 12

Only two more shopping days until I return to the final days of the City Council campaigns. Then, we'll have fun taking apart the campaigns. Any dirt yet? Any mudslinging. You know, the good stuff. Or is everyone behaving? My wife is now looking over my shoulder -- literally -- so I have to pretend that I'm just checking ball scores. See ya in two days. Here's Wild Card ...

Henry K. Lee is liveblogging the Hans Reiser murder trial. See his most recent Chronicle article on the trial here, and all his blog entries here.

12:17 p.m.: Oakland police crime-scene technician Bruce Christensen testified this morning that he processed Nina Reiser's 2001 Honda Odyssey minivan Sept. 9, 2006, the day when resident Chris Bunn found it on Fernwood Drive off Highway 13. Bunn has testified that the vehicle had been there for three or four days.

Prosecutor Paul Hora flashed pictures of the minivan and its contents on a screen as Christensen narrated. Among the things found in the Odyssey was a purse, a compact mirror, a comb, a cell phone charger and a flip-style cell phone in the open position and with its battery detached, Christensen testified. He said search dogs were directed to some of those items in hopes that they could detect her scent and eventually find her.

Constipation's Many Causes and Cures

FRIDAY, Aug. 31 (HealthDay News) -- If you've tried loading up on fruits, vegetables and whole grains and still can't get relief from constipation, maybe you need more than a boost of fiber.

"The idea that many patients have, and unfortunately their physicians, if we just keep pushing fiber until the grass grows out of their behind they'll have been treated successfully, that's not really true," said Dr. Arnold Wald, a professor of medicine in the section on gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Wisconsin.

Doctors recommend consuming fiber, because it's easy to take and cheap, he explained, but it doesn't work for every patient. That's because constipation is a symptom that can have many different causes.

About 80 percent of people suffer from constipation at some point in their lives, according to the American Society of Colon and amp; Rectal Surgeons.
